As you may be aware, Xanterra has made the decision to split its current master plan amendment application currently pending before James City County into three separate applications.
The first application will request to change the master plan designation of the Cottages on the James to remove the 60 day use restriction. This portion of the application is scheduled to go back the Planning Commission at their May 7th meeting.
A second application will be submitted for the 10 lots at Kingsmill Road/Southall Road, the 30 townhomes on the 5th hole of the River Course, the 11 homes on the 6th fairway of the River Course, and the 96 condominiums on the RV storage site in late April.
Finally, a third application will be made for the lots on the Country Road in the area of Grove Creek. The environmental community has asked that certain studies, that Xanterra had already proffered to conduct prior to requesting a land disturbance permit, be prepared prior to seeking approval for these lots. Xanterra has agreed to proceed in this manner and will commence these studies in the near future. This work may take more time so this portion of the project will be submitted as a separate application when this work is complete.
On April 16th from 3pm to 8pm, Xanterra will hold an open house and will have all the plans that have been prepared to date available for review. Gordon Taylor, Vice President Parks South at Xanterra and representatives of Winding Road Development will be on hand to personally discuss the development plans and tiered application during the Open House.
We look forward to seeing you on April 16th anytime between 3pm to 8pm in the James River Grand Ballroom.
