Welcome to all new and current members of the KLGA/9! 2019 was a great season and we look forward to many new opportunities for KLGA/9 golf in 2020.
Based on the survey taken at the end of last season, there was overwhelming support for our new initiatives including the improved communication format via “The Pitch”, informal weekly lunches, new games, a Home and Away with Ford’s Colony, and the invitational with the Kingsmill KLGA/18. Also, the 2019 rule changes made playing golf easier and helped the pace of play.
We plan to build on this success by:
- Continuing our informal lunches for those who are available each week,
- Adding new games,
- Ensuring there is flighted play once a month,
- Dividing our Member/Member into 2 days at different times of the season,
- Trying Random Pairings, a couple of times throughout the season
- A Home and Away with Governor’s Land.
A major focus of some of the new initiatives is to improve the method of pairing players. To enhance the opportunity to play with a variety of players, we incorporate A, B, C, D play, Flighted play, and Random pairings. The Member/Member, Bring a Friend and KLGA9/18 Invitational allow our players to choose their cart mates. The ability to pair our players with different members, i.e. new friends, will expand the bonds between our members. Also, we will get to know our new members!
So, check out your clubs, make sure your grips are in good condition and don’t forget that all 3 courses, and their practice areas, are open all year round. (The Woods Course is open every day except Monday.)
We look forward to playing with you in the Spring.
