Dear KMGA Members-
Welcome to 2021 and a new golf year! Although 2020 was challenging for everyone, our ability to continue to play golf was a silver lining to the year. The KMGA expects 2021 to be even busier and we’re prepared to offer you many different venues and events while remaining safe. I am pleased to inform you that your new KMGA Board is off and running.
One of our main goals is to expand our golf membership. We hope and encourage everyone to come out and participate in as many KMGA tournaments as possible. Regardless of your golf handicap, we have a place for you. If you have a game you feel needs work, Kingsmill has excellent facilities and renowned professional teachers to help you improve your game. If you have any questions, feel free to reach out to me and the KMGA Board.
As we look forward to the 2021 golf season, we are planning to conduct our tournaments as is customary in a normal year, but will adjust as necessary as related to the COVID-19 Pandemic. We will continue to pass down information regarding the pandemic as it relates to organized activities. We are in unison with the Resort and our highest priority is to of maintain the health and welfare of all our members.
Your KMGA will continue to move forward and improve in 2021.
2021 goals include:
1. Get back to a regular schedule of tournaments, and related activities.
2. Transition to a more user-friendly and informative on-line presence for our members through our KMGA webpage.
3. Continue our successful inter-club tournaments with Williamsburg Cup (league play), and Home and Away (contests with clubs in the Tidewater and beyond).
4. Continue to advance KMGA operations and update budgeting, internal financial controls, and handicapping matters (Denby Starling is our Handicap Chairman).
5. Above all, go to the golf courses to enjoy the best sport experience there is!!
Fairways and Greens,
Bill Goodale, KMGA President

|Odd Lots of Today|
The Odd Lots are very similar to those depicted in the “Golfers are an Odd Lot” article. We play 18 holes almost every Tuesday on the River, Plantation or Woods courses, with tee times changing by season. Odd Lots play a different format each week, chosen by the Captains. The players have the choice of red, white or red/white combo tees. The Odd Lots use email to send results and information to the players as well as post results, signup sheet, and schedule in the men’s locker room, players can sign up via email . If you are a first-time player all you need to do is write your name on the signup sheet, along with your handicap, by Monday at noon. Odd Lots are all about enjoying golf and your fellow golfers and as said before “You don’t have to be a good golfer, just a good guy”.
