Our junior tennis program is based on a structured pathway that serves as a guide that helps players acquire different skills allowing them to fully develop their game. In order to accomplish this, players transition through different court sizes, racquet sizes, balls, score systems and net height—all are adjusted for their age and development.
Our goal is to foster a lifelong love for tennis in all our students in a FUN, energetic environment that emphasizes sportsmanship as well as athletic and technical skills. We offer instructional clinics and playing opportunities for our juniors.
Preschool Tennis (Ages 3-4)
This is a great opportunity for children ages 3 and 4 to be introduced to tennis and develop a love for the sport through fun activities that develop motor skills and hand-eye coordination.
Red Ball (Ages 5-8)
This program will introduce young players to the game of tennis in a fun and rewarding way. All fundamental strokes will be taught using small racquets and red balls on special 36 ft. courts with a smaller net size. This program will focus on gross motor skills, coordination, judgment, basic stroke mechanics and more importantly having fun!
Orange Ball (Ages 8-10)
This clinic is designed to help players develop hand eye coordination, learn the motor skills of moving hands and feet together, listen to instructions and introduce cooperative drills. This is the perfect age to establish a solid technical foundation. Players at this level use a 60 ft. court and a low compression orange ball. At this level, kids gain more consistency in their strokes with faster drills and learn to direct shots away from their opponents. Players also are introduced to match play and score keeping.
Green Ball (Ages 9-12)
This clinic is designed to teach your child hand-eye coordination, proper court movement and technique, along with the ability to create spin, depth and shot direction. Players at this level also develop an understanding of the opponent’s strengths and weaknesses, which helps them to learn attacking and defending strategies. This age group uses the full court (78 ft.) with a low compression green ball. At this level, kids learn to move properly, rally more consistently and construct points.
Yellow Ball (Ages 11 & over)
This clinic is designed to provide a foundation for technique, footwork and balance within the framework of fun games. This clinic is intended for players who would like to develop skills to play for fun and potentially participate in JV Tennis or entry level tournaments.
High Performance (Ages 11 & over)
This clinic is for advanced and intermediate tennis players who play varsity tennis, participate in tournaments currently or wish to do so in the near future. These practices are fun but serious. We work hard and learn new things everyday, so it is important that your child has an open mindset and strong motivation to work hard. This class is coached by tennis professionals who have led juniors to competitive success and National ranking status. This is an intensive track where players gain expertise in technical and strategic components of play.
